A racetrack-wound design gives the suture fewer turns around the track and allows for less memory in the suture, making wound closure faster, easier and more efficient. Braided, coated, synthetic, violet, absorbable suture composed of Polyglycolic Acid (PGA), dyed with FDA-approved color additives and coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. Provides excellent handling, knot security, tensile strength during healing and predictable absorption. Indicated for use in soft tissue approximation / ligation, including ophthalmic procedures; not for use in cardiovascular or neurological procedures. Suture elicits minimal inflammatory reaction in tissues, followed by gradual encapsulation and absorption by hydrolysis. Wound Support: 65% at 14 days. Absorption: 60-90 days.
